President Samia Tours Lindi Region

President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania has commenced her two day official tour in Lindi region on 17 September 2023, after completing the Mtwara region tour with success. 

Mtwara and Lindi tours are part of the President’s initiatives of promoting economic diplomacy at national level in particular through agriculture sector whereby various viable industrial projects including Mtwara Port, Regional Hospital have been initiated. 

Among the Ministers in her delegates is Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe (MP) who has been engineering the agriculture revolution since appointed as the Minister two years ago, spearheading a sustainable

plan of revolutionizing agriculture in the Lindi and Mtwara regions. 

As it was in Mtwara region, in Lindi President Samia has been warmly welcomed by thousands of Lindi resident who have expressed their enthusiasm in prioritizing development projects in that region. 

Agriculture sector has been one of the priority sectors, contributing to nearly 30 percent of the Tanzania’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
