SOUTH SUDAN HAILS NANE NANE EXHBITION 2026
The Government of the Republic of South Sudan has applauded the Nanenane International Agricultural Exhibition 2026, recognizing it as a premier platform that highlights the importance of food security while positioning Tanzania as one of Africa’s leading hubs for agricultural innovation.
This was stated during the discussion between Tanzania’s Minister for Agriculture Hon. Daniel Chongolo (MP) and South Sudan’s Minister for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Clement Juna Mbugonwinia (MP), held on 4 August 2026, at the Dr. John Samuel Malecela Nanenane Exhibition grounds in Dodoma, Tanzania.
Hon. Minister Mbugonwinia emphasized that the exhibition showcases modern technologies, mechanization, investment, value chain development; reinforcing its role as a catalyst for regional transformation. He further commended Tanzania’s achievements in agricultural research, mechanization, irrigation, cooperative development, and agro‑processing, noting that these experiences provide valuable lessons that South Sudan seeks to adapt for its own agricultural transformation.
For his part, Hon. Minister Chongolo reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening agricultural cooperation, regional trade, and food security with South Sudan. He welcomed South Sudan’s interest in investing in maize, rice, millet and beans, highlighting the potential for mutually beneficial collaboration.
The exhibition’s theme: "Leveraging Market Intelligence: Enhancing Productivity towards Vision 2050,” reflects the strategic vision of harnessing knowledge-driven agriculture to achieve sustainable growth and resilience across the continent.
